진료과소개

신경외과는 뇌, 척수, 뇌신경과 척수신경, 말초신경 등 신경계에 생기는 다양한 질환들에 대하여 수술적인 치료를 하는 진료과로서 뇌혈관외과, 뇌종양외과, 척추신경외과, 두부 및 척추 외상, 소아신경외과, 뇌전증외과 등 6개 분과의 전문 진료영역으로 9명의 전문 의료진과 전공의, 간호사 모두가 첨단 의료기기를 이용한 풍부한 임상경험을 바탕으로 진단의 정확도를 극대화하며 환자의 만족도를 높이기 위해 최선의 노력을 하고 있습니다.

뇌혈관외과 - 뇌경색, 뇌출혈, 뇌동맥류, 뇌동정맥 기형 등에 대한 진단과 수술적인 치료를 하고 있으며, 각 질환과 환자의 특성에 맞추어 약물 치료, 혈관 내 수술 등을 시행하고 있습니다.
뇌종양외과 - 뇌종양에 대한 진단과 치료를 하며, 뇌종양에 흔히 동반되는 뇌전증 발작의 조절 등 뇌종양 환자들에 대한 치료의 상당 부분을 담당하고 있습니다.
척추신경외과 - 요통을 비롯한 척추 부위와 관련된 통증에 대한 진료를 하고 있으며, 이외에도 추간판 탈출증, 척수의 종양 등 거의 모든 척추 질환을 다루고 있습니다. 또한 내시경을 통한 최소 침습 수술을 시행하고 있으며, 수술적 치료 뿐 아니라 약물 치료, 재활 치료, 통증 치료를 병행하기도 하며, 협진을 통하여 보다 빠르고 편리한 진료를 시행하기 위하여 노력하고 있습니다.
두부 및 척추 외상 - 교통사고, 낙상 등의 다양한 사고로 머리와 척추 부위에 손상을 입거나 두통, 어지러움, 신경마비, 통증 등의 증상이 있는 경우 등에 대하여 전문적인 진료를 시행하고 있습니다.
소아신경외과 - 신생아, 소아 및 청소년에 발생하는 다양한 신경계 질환을 다루며, 두개안면 기형, 요천추부 지방종과 같은 선천성 질환과 뇌수두증과 같이 후천적으로 나타나는 질환에 대한 진단 및 치료를 시행하고 있습니다.
기능신경외과 – 약물에 의해 조절되지 않는 뇌전증, 떨림, 안면 경련. 삼차신경통 과 암성 및 기타 심한 통증 등을 다루고, 수술 치료 및 약물 치료, 재활 치료를 병행하고 있습니다.

컴퓨터 단층촬영 (CT) - X선이나 초음파를 여러 각도에서 인체에 투여하고 이를 컴퓨터로 재구성하여 인체 내부 단면의 모습을 화상으로 처리하는 검사
- 소요시간 : 약 10분~15분
- 장소 : 본관 1층 서편
자기공명영상 (MRI) - 자장을 발생하는 커다란 자석통 속에 인체를 들어가게 한 후 고주파를 발생시켜 신체의 수소원자핵을 공명시키고 각 조직에서 나오는 신호의 차이를 측정하여 컴퓨터를 통해 영상화하는 검사
- 소요시간 : 약 20분~60분
- 장소 : 본관 1층 서편
뇌혈관 조영증강 촬영술 (4-vessel angiography: TFCA) - 뇌혈관 속에 조영제를 주입하고 X선 촬영을 하여 뇌혈관 이상 유무를 보는 검사
- 소요시간 : 약 30분
- 장소 : 본관 1층 서편 혈관촬영실(하이브리드실)
경두개 초음파검사 (TCD: Transcranial Doppler) - 인체에 무해한 초음파를 몸 안에 투과시켜 반사되는 음파를 영상으로 변환하여 뇌혈관의 폐쇄여부와 혈류 속도에 대한 정보를 얻는 검사
- 소요시간 : 약 10분~20분
- 장소 : 본관 3층 서편 제2중환자실
