Occupational & Environmental Medicine

Introduction of the medical department

The Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine is a medical department that studies issues related to occupation and the environment and performs medical services related to them. Occupational and environmental medicine can be broadly divided into 'occupational medicine' and 'environmental medicine'. From an occupational medicine perspective, it diagnoses and treats workers' diseases, maintains and improves their health, and from an environmental medicine perspective, it deals with harmful substances contained in our surrounding environment. We diagnose and treat health disorders that may be caused by factors, and we also make efforts to find the cause and prevent it.

The Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Chosun University Hospital operates outpatient treatment to diagnose and evaluate occupational diseases, work-related diseases, and environment-related diseases, and performs various health checkups, including general health checkups, employment checkups, and visa checkups. In addition, through the Gwangju Workers' Health Center, we provide occupational health public services to manage workers' health and improve risk factors for occupational diseases.
