Orthopedics

Introduction of the medical department

Orthopedics is a field of medicine that studies, preserves, restores, and develops the form and function of limbs, spine, and appendages using medical, surgical, and physical methods. In this speciality, the medical team consisting of 8 professors, 2 full-time doctors, and 12 residents provide specialized treatment in the overall field of orthopedics using the latest knowledge gained through active research and overseas training. In particular, We are working hard for specialized and comprehensive research and treatment in the fields of trauma and extensive spinal surgery, hip and hand surgery, limb salvage through microsurgery, foot surgery, total knee and shoulder joint replacement surgery, and diagnosis and surgery using arthroscopy.

  • Trauma - We carry out systematic diagnosis, treatment and research using the latest techniques through various experiences and research on fractures, dislocations, ligament damage, muscle damage, and nerve damage caused by traffic accidents, falls, and other various traumas. We also provide active and diverse treatments for overall complications that may occur. In particular, in the event of multiple trauma or severe trauma, we strive to increase the patient's survival rate and minimize complications through active collaborative treatment with other departments.
  • Spine - We conduct systematic research, diagnosis, and treatment of spinal diseases and trauma, including degenerative lesions in the spine, spinal deformity and deformity, spinal cancer, fractures due to trauma, and nerve damage. We also conduct nerve repair through minimally invasive surgery using microscopic surgery. We are trying to improve neurological symptoms and reduce hospitalization by performing decompression surgery.
  • Hip joint - Wearing a spacesuit in the operating room, use small incisions, and improved artificial joint equipment to perform joint replacement surgery, which has virtually no incidence of complications such as infection, very short surgery time, and permanent joint lifespan. Surgery for geriatric, that is, osteoporotic, hip joint fractures used to be treated using a proximal femoral bone nail that allows movement immediately after surgery instead of metal plate fixation, which is very good for the surgical outcome and especially early movement.
  • Shoulder and elbow joints - Most shoulder and elbow problems can be improved without surgery. Therefore, we first look for the ways to treat the trauma and disease state of these joints without surgery, and in order to obtain good results, we use various diagnostic equipment and analysis tools to accurately evaluate them, and then use a regenerative medicine approach to provide customers with maximum effects with minimal procedures as our best working.
  • Hand and microsurgery - We strive to restore limb function early through active restoration and reconstruction using open surgery or microsurgery for hand and upper extremity damage caused by hand arthritis, degenerative diseases, limb tumors, and trauma.
  • Foot and ankle joint - Since ancient times, the foot has been an organ that has been looked down on despite of its importance as it has been considered invisible and smelly because it is covered with socks or shoes. However, recently, as lifestyles have become westernized and interest in health has increased, its importance has been increasingly recognized. The Foot Clinic is a specialized clinic that provides prevention, conservative treatment, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of all diseases occurring in the foot and ankle joints. In particular, based on our abundant clinical experience, we are equipped with specialized foot and foot diagnostic and treatment equipment to provide more accurate treatment, thereby promoting the specializaed and scientific diagnosis and treatment.
  • Knee joint - We pursue customized treatment for arthritis patients through accurate diagnosis and step-by-step treatment for advanced degenerative knee arthritis that requires total artificial joint replacement for localized defects in the articular cartilage that are not visible on plain radiographs but cause pain. We also pursue customized treatment for arthritis patients through accurate diagnosis and step-by-step treatment. For the most common anterior cruciate ligament injuries and cartilage plate ruptures, we perform Cartilage flap(Graft) repair and anatomical double bundle reconstruction
